Material innovation for industry

Advanced materials.
Alternative sources.

Circonomiqs develops advanced processes that transform underutilised material streams into high-value products for modern industry.

We work with industry partners to identify new material opportunities, develop compatible processing pathways and co-create applications with commercial potential, helping create alternative sources of materials for evolving industrial supply chains.

Discuss an opportunity

New ways to create the materials industry needs.

Material supply does not have to begin with conventional sources.

Circonomiqs identifies valuable components within existing material and production streams then develops responsible and sustainable processes to recover, refine and create higher-value outputs.

Our approach combines material science, process development and industry collaboration to create new opportunities for resource efficiency, more resilient material supply and commercially valuable industrial input.

Alternative material source pathways
01

Alternative sources

Identifying new pathways to production of materials used across established and emerging industries, broadening the sources available to manufacturers and material developers.

Advanced material processing and refinement
02

Advanced processing

Developing proprietary approaches to material recovery, refinement and transformation that can unlock value from overlooked material streams.

Industry co-creation and material development

Industry co-creation

Working with partners to align material characteristics, processing and applications with real-world requirements from an early stage of development.

Rice-production material stream High-purity bio-silica material Retained-carbon material Material application for water and air filtration

From material opportunity to industrial application.

Circonomiqs’ current work focuses on upcycling materials from rice-production waste streams.

Using proprietary processing, Circonomiqs is developing high-purity bio-silica alongside valuable intermediate products and retained-carbon co-products, which otherwise released into the atmosphere as production emission in traditional processes.

This represents Circonomiq’s first material platform and demonstrates a broader approach: identifying alternative material sources and developing processes capable of turning them into commercially useful products.

The opportunity extends beyond recovering value from an existing stream. It is about developing new routes to materials that industry already uses and will continue to need.

These materials are being explored across applications including:

  • Battery technology and energy materials
  • Advanced and specialty materials
  • Cosmetics and formulated products
  • Water purification and air filtration

Co-creating new opportunities.

Circonomiqs started through UK government-supported innovation funding and now works with industry on compatible material and product development. We collaborate with organisations across the materials value chain identify opportunities, develop material and processing pathways, and help translate promising material concepts into practical industrial applications.

The UK government funding supports Commonwealth partners in developing a more sustainable and resilient critical mineral value chain to enhance UK’s supply security and return its global competitiveness. Whilst this partnership continues, Circonomiqs is working to expand its market reach, seeking further collaboration with new partners and investment to support our work.

Opportunities for collaboration

  • Organisations exploring alternative material sources.
  • Those looking for higher-value uses for existing material streams.
  • Teams developing new material applications.
  • Businesses seeking to improve resource efficiency within their value chain and up their game on ESG commitments or diversify the material pathways available within their value chain.
